Getting started
Do I need special equipment?
No. You manage your station in a browser. To go live you need a computer with a microphone and any software that supports Icecast — or you can broadcast straight from the browser.
How fast can I be on air?
We set up your trial station within one business day. After that, uploading music and going live takes minutes.
Do I need a credit card for the trial?
No. The 14-day trial is free with no card. Before it ends, we send you a payment link for the plan you choose.
Broadcasting
Which DJ software works with CastOnAir?
Any software that can stream to an Icecast server, including BUTT, Mixxx, RadioBOSS, SAM Broadcaster and OBS. Each DJ gets their own login.
What happens if my live DJ disconnects?
AutoDJ takes over automatically, so your station never goes silent.
What audio formats can I upload?
MP3 and AAC (M4A). For best results use 44.1 kHz files at a constant bitrate.
Can I relay another station?
Yes. You can schedule a relay of any stream you have permission to rebroadcast.
Apps & Alexa
Which plans include apps?
Branded iOS and Android apps with CarPlay and Android Auto, plus an Alexa skill, are included on Pro + Apps and Business.
How long do the apps take?
We build them after your first payment. Store review by Apple, Google and Amazon usually takes a few days.
Billing & account
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Upgrade any time (charged pro-rata). Cancel monthly plans any time and keep your station until the end of the paid month.
Who is responsible for music licensing?
